I am using layers of fabric, both store-bought and homemade, applied to the canvas, and then painting with acrylics to get layers.

Layers of Distractions, fabric and acrylic on canvas, 40” x 80”

After finishing my BA in art, I began a career as a ceramic artist, focusing on surface development, eventually creating large installations. I became increasingly interested in abstraction, which lead me to switch from painting on clay to painting on canvas. I have been working as an abstract painter since 2003 painting spontaneously and intuitively, often without preconceived ideas. I experiment with a variety of tools, brushes, and techniques to develop the surfaces of the canvases. I love the experimentation, seeing what results that I get, as I continue to be intrigued and surprised.
